You probably know this already, but I would suggest that since you are going to do major rework on the front that you just strip it down to the frame to pull the engine. It will come out sooooo much easier. Also be warned if you have an automatic that the flywheel is part of the torque converter and doesn't come off. At least it is that way on my 58. You will have to disconnect the crankshaft from the flywheel to seperate engine from tranny. I live in Arizona so I also deal with the fearsome critters. Mostly Black Widows. Fortunately I am far enough into town that Scorpions are not a problem. Good Luck!
