Thanks for the reply on my oil filter inquiry. I know that some makes of cars in the late forties/early fifties had the oil filter as an option but I didn't know that there were cars equipped with this type of diposable unit. Makes sense that this being a low buck six it would have the cheapie (from a production standpoint) filter installed.Good thing the oil can bypass the filter as I'll bet this filter was last changed during the Kennedy administration.
