While I was in college (around the Cro-Magnun era), a friend was helping his widowed great-aunt clear out a barn on property that had been sold off for development. In the back he found under a tarp and haybales a 1932 Ford Model B rumble-seat roadster. It had less than 2000 miles on it! He queried whose it was, and found out her husband's brother owned it, bought new, and had left it with them while he went on a branstorming show across the South, where he was killed in a crash. They put it in the barn and left it there, eventually forgetting about it. My buddy cleaned it up, oiled the bores, cleaned the sump and put fresh tires on it. After a little work, the old flathead V-8 fired up and ran with a smooth idle. He was given the car by his great-aunt for his help in the cleanup. I think this is the only case of a vehicle that old with that low a mileage being found in near-perfect condition, if you disregard having to evict the mice from inside the seats! Some people have all the luck!
