I thought this was simple, but... I bought a '58 Ply 2-dr ht a few years ago. The engine was orange, 2x4 setup, distributor at the rear. I thought it was a 318 "A". However, the numbers stamped into the block are on the right side (passenger side), "2-1737829", which doesn't relate to anything I have been able to find in any Mopar book or any website I have found so far. I can't assume this is the original engine, or even if it is a Mopar. Can any one point me in toward solution of this identification problem? Many thanks!
