I would not use anything but 10-30 Mobil One Full Synthetic in anything I care about UNLESS it is for fresh engine break in. I use Valvoline VR1 Race Oil 20-50 for break in, then after 1000 miles swap to Mobil One Full Synthetic only. I wouldn't use transmission fluid in anything other than a transmission. That just doesn't make sense to me. If you want to clean the motor you should rebuild it. Speaking from experience with my sludge machine, there is no way to get all the crud out of an engine without hot tanking the block.
