I am going to swap my dented oil pan for a new one. 1959 Desoto. There is a steering linkage that runs right under the pan that must be dropped before the pan can be removed. I want to do this safely, therefore the question--- must the car be on jacks with all of the weight off of the suspension before dropping the cross assembly or can it be done on ramps with the car sitting as usual?
