The super D500 did have a different cam. I do not know the exact specifications, but we used a "440 6-pack" cam in mine, and I'm told that it is very close to the original. The super D500 also has a unique RH exhaust manifold with provisions for a choke heat riser, and some unique brakets for the coil mounting, etc. Jim
