Ok, I'm a little confused. Some people say to use the Ford Type A trans fluid and some say use Dexron/Mercon. What's the difference between them? Are there any advantages? I have a torque flite trans for a 1960 plymouth fury. I had the trans rebuild in the early 1980s and its been in storage for about 20 years. Working on restoring the car now and had the trans out and looked at. The trans place recommeded to use the Dexron/Mercon fluid.
