Funny old things torque converters. Stall speed it not necessarily the same if you use the same converter on different engines. A converter that stalls at 2600 rpm behind a small block may well stall at 4500 behind a big block. It all has to do with torque input as well. How can you tell what it will do? Well it's difficult. When you see a converter advertised as having a higher stall speed, that's a guideline. You need to speak to the people that modified it. Don't get too hung up on the stall speed. That only applies to what the converter will top out at IF the transmission is locked with a trans brake. What's more important is "Flash speed" which is what the converter will flash to before the vehicle starts rolling.
