The only way I know to get professional results is take the piece off and buff it using buffing wheels on the bench grinder and appropriate polishing compounds. You can get what you need in kit form from Eastwood and it's resonably priced. Just be careful when buffing to avoid the wheel grabbing the part out your hand. A little patience and care will give amazing results the first time. I believe the kits include instructions as to which compound to use when and the type of wheel to use as well. Have fun and save some money!
