I think you are off on your years! the 56 and 57 Desoto Adventurers had the Gold anodized wheel cover that looked similar. the easiest way to tell them apart is the 56 did not have a valve stem hole and the 57 did. the 56 used seperate clips to hold them in place where the 57 version has a built in snap ring to attach it to the rim. also the 56 was for a 15 inch rim and the 57 was for a 14 inch rim. http://www.roadkillontheweb.com/images/s_wc1.jpg this is an image of a 57 wheel cover note the Valve stem at the 9 O'Clock position. the stamping is the same on both with the exception of the outer lip area of the 56 extanded out further and of course the valve stem hole. they were all made by a company in Chicago that also made the 56 Fury wheel cover same as the 56 desoto except for the DES insignia was missing and the finish was part silver part gold. they also made a cover for the Studebaker Hawks that had a large plastic center insert.
