After reading "The Shining", I can say I'm glad Mr. King never moonlighted as a heating contractor. But that's a subject for another discussion list. I tended steam boilers during the early 1980s and can tell you that the Overlook Hotel would have never received and occupancy permit with steam plant set up he described in that book!
