Now THIS is a good point. The '57 Fury, with stock 1957 technology, could do 0 to 60 in 8.6 seconds (the 350 in '58 pared this down to 7.7 seconds). The 1994-96 Impala SS,a car of roughly comparable size and weight,with 32 more cubes,multi-port fuel injection and full computer engine control,can do 0 to 60 in about 7 seconds (stock). This does beg a "what if" the 318 poly was poked up to 350 ci and fitted with custom multi-port EFI to level the playing field with the Impala?! (remember,the 405 HP 402" poly built by Mopar Muscle has a single Carter ThermoQuad 4-bbl. carb,not EFI)
