Have had radials on my 56 Ply for 8 yrs. Least I can stop in the rain now!!!! It DOES ride stiffer. But will cruise without pavement jerking. Dont go oversize, stock rims are narrow. Seat belts are designed as a SYSTEM. All components must work to provide the required result. I had belts in all prior cars up to 12 yrs ago. no longer. Just think of the fun in a 2dr of that heavy seatback whacking you forward!! And the anchors pulling out of the floor when the seat sliding mechanism gives. All IMHO Lars
