Excellent points from all of you. I shift my own gears rather than push buttons. I would assume your '60, with both a manual trans and its from disks would be ideal coming down a steep mountain grade. While I am noot one to "ride" the brakes, I am aware of the Full Contact brakes' tendency to fade after repeated applications. But I will say having an extra intermediate gear (as one does with an A-833) must be nice with large heavy car.
