360 in a '58...??? What does this entail...???

I have a '58 Plymouth with no engine. I'd like to keep the pushbutton setup. Could I use a '62 vintage transmission bolted to a '70's vintage 360? Also, is buying a police package 360 worth the extra money as opposed to a regular 360 with a mild cam, dula plane, and headers? Thanks
