I think the best way to paint hubcaps is to get the pin stripe tape, it's really thin and you get good lines with it. Use a razor blade for clean lines. Then you can use masking tape to prevent over spray. Hubcap painting gets old, try an 'old school' sign painter, I had a set painted for $25.00 last year....which is well worth it! Eric
