Rich, the information in my previous reply applies to passenger cars, '57-59. The pre-'57 cars and trucks built through 1960 used a different water pump assembly. The '57 through '59 cars had a much lower hood line and used a special two piece water pump, similar in design to "B" and "RB" big blocks. The main casting can remain attached to the block and a round water pump with four bolts can be removed when the pump needs replacement. This set-up used a bigger water pump pulley than the "high hood" and truck models did.
