You should rebuild the 318 poly with a '62-up crank (fits right in your original block!). This will be so much easier and cheaper than making a spacer AND threading the holes in the original crank flange to accomodate later 8-bolt clutch assemblies.
With a '62-up crank,just bolt on a later 4-speed bellhousing & clutch assembly,couldn't be easier! That frees up a lot of time that you can use to cut the hole in the floor and get the clutch linkage sorted out.
I could probably buy 10+ usable LA 318 cranks for what it would cost to have the spacer CNC'ed....
