I think we've all been there, at least once! A friend did his the way Mike described, warm it up, apply pressure, warm it up again and so on, anyway after the umpteenth warming session and goodness knows how much pressure he goes indoors for a coffee and whilst waiting for the kettle to boil hears a loud bang, bang, crack. Upon inspection the drum had decided to give up, came off the shaft and into the garage wall causing a crack in the concrete sectioned wall. The drum was sat below it with puller still attached. That was when he learned that he should have left the nut on the end of the shaft, just slackened off.
