I have a 58 Saratoga hartop with 54k miles on her. It has a 354 4bl Spitfire 310hp, the poly motor. I'd like to make it more effecient by updating to a electronic ignition.
My question is does anyone know if the distributor shaft length is the same as 318, 340, 360, 383 of the 60's era?
I guess I could buy a kit from Summit racing and use the guts to stick in my distributor housing, still using the orignal shaft if need be.
Also would like to get rid of the generator and switch to an alternator. I know guys use Chevy alternators, but would rather stick with a mopar alternator since Chevy alts eat rear bearings. Anyone know of a conversion kit or what alt brackets off a more current mopar would work on a 354?
For those who answer, thanks a bunch.
