To my knowledge, I thought all Dodge Texans were built off the Coronet Trim Level, not the Custom or Custom Royal trim level.
I have pix of a 1956 Texan somewhere and it was a Coronet 2-door HT as well.
I believe the main difference was the interior and the Texan emblems on the car.
