Your grille is anodized aluminum. It must be stripped of the anodizing to be chromed. The grille on my car responded well to a polishing wheel and some time. However, to get a true chomelike shine without chrome plating, you must remove the anodizing. The aluminum can then be polished to shine like chrome, but it will require frequent poishing to keep it from dulling.
