[GFS] 56 Fury brake noise

Hey GFS'ers,
  How do I get rid of the very loud & annoying squawking noise from my 
56 Fury front brakes?  The shoes are new & the drums have been 
resurfaced.  It stops just fine but I can't seem to get rid of the 
noise!  I am thinking of a disc brake conversion.  Has anyone tried this?
