Hello:
I have some code information from the factory manual as well as a Cars
and Parts American Car ID Manual. Here goes:
Vin Number LP2W2175.
The L stands for the year 1958. This is the first year that
Chrysler used letters to designate model year.
The P stands for Plymouth
The 2 means it is a V8 or chassis type 2 (with V8)
The W means it was built in Windsor Canada
The 2175 means that it is the 1175th car built on this type chassis with
a V8. Numbering started at 1000.
The rest of the coding on the firewall is not shown in my books. Guess the
Canadians used a different system. Our Canadian friends may know what they are.
Regards,
John Teske
