My chevy 396 and my lincoln 317 I use shell rotella 15w40 its a high zinc diesel oil good and cheap and you can get it anywhere. My mopar I use brad penn 20w50 its a synthetic blend high zinc oil great stuff maybe the best. I use amsoil full synthetic in all my other cars also great oil. They also offer a high zinc oil. The older engines I run a heavy weight. The newer engines I run lighter stuff all roller and tighter tolerances. I tryed synthetic in my lincoln it didnt like it at all it was leaking like crazy. Went back to rotella. But I'll open the can of worms anyway. A friend who just got a 1968 Z28 asked my opinion and I myself have different notions in my own head, but it's a relevant question for our old cars. What do you use for oil in an older high performance engine? I use synthetic with a Zinc additive. But who says I'm right? I've heard Rotella and other things as well. I'm interested in your opinions.
