I have one of those old school HealthKit tailpipe sensors. You can find them on eBay.

The design clips on the tailpipe but it should be pushed at least 18 inches in to be accurate.

2) Another related question:   if it goes up your tailpipe what happens when you have dual exhaust? I guess you could sniff both tailpipes and ratio should be close from side to side if the carb is working ok.??
