Yes many different tail housings to cover all platforms, different b body ones as well, 3 I believe, trans mount and shifter positions very. I remember doing research and it gets confusing. I forget what I used on my 65. I bought the trans first and got the bellhousing and other stuff after. You can mix and match you would probably have to get the parts from brewers if you were in a hurry. The whole trans has to be broken down to change the tailhousing and mainshaft. It is 1 unit then there is the main case. Not like a muncie were the tail house can be just removed and the mainshaft is on a center bearing retainer between the tail housing and main case. Its involved. You could call brewers and see if you could trade to get what you need. Just a thought. If you rebuilt manual trans before you will be ok. I believe the hardest part is the cluster has to be dropped to remove and reinstall the tail and mainshaft. To change to a sliding yoke you need a tail housing and mainshaft for '65 or later, that will fit this transmission with the proviso that there might be a bigger bearing in the tail housing, but the ID is the same from memory so that's not an issue. In other words, you can use this transmission if you change the mainshaft (which is the output shaft) and the tail housing. Or if you get a ball & trunnion driveshaft. Or muck around a bit more and make up a CV joint which will fit the B & T flange and adapt to a regular driveshaft. There are minor differences in gearbox mount locations, by the way...
