I am going to be pulling the 318 Poly from my 64 Belvedere.  The transmission has been rebuild and I just want to pull the engine and leave the transmission in the car.  Are there any precautions or recommendations on pulling the engine alone?  The only concerns I have found other that safety are about the torque converter. 

Don't let the torque converter fall out of the transmission.

Don't leave it on the transmission input shaft, it can damage the seal.  Can leaving the torque converter on the input shaft damage the seal?  If so I have a 727 that has had the torque converter on the input shaft for several years, I may have a problem if I decide to use it and the transmission.
