Re: 62 Fury Trim - Where to Drill Holes?

Have you tried masking tape to give you a line?

My father-in-law is finishing up his 1962 Fury.  It has donor front fenders not original to the car, which don't have the holes drilled for the wide piece of trim that goes along the top (see photos).  We're trying to figure out exactly where to drill the holes....the trim piece is nice & straight and has all the studs, but it's a bit tricky to know where to drill since the trim would go down at a bit of an angle.  We don't want to guess at it and then have it off kilter 1/8 of an inch, it needs to line up with the trim on the door.

We thought perhaps the easiest way was to find someone with this same fender that would happen to be off the car, and have them trace a pattern they could send to us (anyone have one?)  Otherwise, any advice on how best to go about making sure we accurately drill the holes would be appreciated.

Thanks much - Wade
