RE: break in oil

My recommendation would be amsoil makes a break in oil .   since we sell it.   hahaha.  Seriously though.  Good stuff.   I usually run about 500-1000 miles then change it.  and make for sure to add a zddp product even if the oil you buy says it has zinc in the oil.   Amsoil products that are designed for the flat tappet cams will say they have it.  and are what I run in my cars/trucks/ equipment.  That said  do not. Do not!!! DON’T!!!!  RUN AMSOIL  till after the engine is good and the rings are seated!!!  From experience I tell you this.  the synthetic oil from amsoil is too good and the rings wont seat!!!  Put 1 or 2 oil changes through the engine   then switch to amsoil.  If you decide to do that.  I fought blowby bad.  Finally took it to the drag strip and round robbined a few passes.   That seemed to settle the rings in.  but had I used a conventional oil and driven the car more I think I would not have had that issue.
