Re: TRANS

493 Mike has made good suggestions. You can use the ‘65 trans with push buttons if you change the “rooster comb” shift detent for a ‘62-‘64 detent. I noticed Pat Blaise has one on eBay right now. I think his handle is “Tflite Patty”. You can then use a splined front driveshaft yoke if you prefer that to the ball and trunion set up. I don’t think you can beat a push button shift. But if you are wanting to change to an aftermarket floor shifter you would need to find one for an early cable shift Mopar or use a ‘66 or later trans. Alternative: a floor shifter from a ‘65 Mopar. One from a ‘’65 Barracuda would give you the mini shift console and would work directly with your ‘65 trans as it is now.

Give us a little more info Bob. What is the car to be used for? If you have a good 65 core I would have it rebuilt, adding a later model front pump and wide bushing front clutch if high performance is your goal. Along with a Transgo TF-2 shift kit installed using the competition mode instructions. Where are you located?

Hi Group- I'm trying to decide on a trans for my 63 belvedere. I have a 65 pushbutton I could have built or am also thinking of floor shift. Need advice on what company to go with. TCI? BM etc. if I go non push button. thanks
