"Re-chroming" dash bezel

I've been working on the dash bezel on my 63 Sp. Fury.  I'm using the Molotow Liquid Chrome marker pens to do the shiny parts.  Someone here suggested this product in a post awhile back.  So far I've been pretty satisfied with the results.  A couple things I've discovered:  It dries a little more quickly than was suggested meaning it's important to keep a "wet edge" when applying, and it works better on uneven surfaces than on wider flat areas.  On the flat areas it looks like it was brushed on, getting kind of blotchy.  So far I've done most of the area of my bezel with one pen.  They come in sizes from 1 mm to 4mm.  I ordered the 4mm. I think I'll be ordering a 1 or 2 mm to get to some of the tight areas I couldn't get into with the 4.  Also holding off on doing the inside area of the two larger gauge rings, which are relatively wide and flat.  Seems like if you could open up a pen and dump the contents into an airbrush you could get a good result.  If anyone has a suggestion along those lines I'll be happy to listen.
I'll wait until I've got all of the shiny parts done and then tackle the black.  I'm thinking it should be a semi-gloss and will probably just cut it in along the edges with an artist's brush instead of trying to mask it off. And then brush the rest of it too.  With the uneven surface of the black area it shouldn't show the brush marks as long as I get it thinned properly.
