The most important part I forgot to mention my car has some leafs added to the stock springs to raise the car and has air shocks. Its much higher then stock for this to work and I still had to roll the fender lips. I had to do this because cragars s/s rims only come in there sizes they offer no custom offsets at least the new ones not sure about the old ones.

Subject: Re: rear tire fitment
I don't think those would fit with that backspace. My 64 Belvedere came with L60-15s (basically 275/60/15) on modified steel rims with 5 1/4" BS 3 3/4" FS (~8.5" rim). The tires sidewall to sidewall are 11.5"(10.8" tread) and barely fit. There's some slight rubbing on the springs in the stock location and there is not a lot of room on the outside either.

does anyone know if 295/65-15 M/T will fit a '64 B body on 8" rims w/ 4.25" BS? the car has a stock width rear axle housing, unmodified wheel tubs, and rear springs in stock location.
from my initial measurements the tires will just fit, but i was wondering if anyone has them on their car. a friend of mine has been trying to sell them and is now offering them to me at a great price (free).
thank you,
