If your cruising it dont matter. If your racing 742 housing is got the biggest pinion shaft that can take a beating. But they cost more in my findings. I always had good luck with mopar city. I bought 2 from him at different times and I just cleaned them up and slapped them in and they are still working great. I think I paid $275 for a 2:76 open and I paid $375 for a 3:23 suregrip. This was a couple years ago.

Hello all,

I’m starting to looking around for 4.10 or 3.91 center section, complete.  Can be either 489 or 742 case.  Hopefully rebuilt, in very good condition.

The ideal would be if the person out there wanting to sell one might also be going to Chrysler’s at Carlisle this July as I will be there.
