The 1965 Poly 727 trans was a unique "slip-yoke" trans and cable shifted. The valve body needs minor modification to connect to the earlier 1962-66 pushbutton boxes (or you can also use the 1956-61 pushbutton boxes) via the rooster comb...and the "new" cable will be much longer to connect from the '65 trans to the pushbutton box location on the dash. The '65 cable is approx 14" long or so and most 62-64 cables are 57-65" long. Yes, the cable "ends" (bullet-nose w/star wheel adjuster) are the same from 1962-65. Pat Blais Transmissions in WA State has copious information w/pictures and all the parts for the modification/conversion... Not sure what attachment you refer to. The 1965 was the one year only transmission that still used shift cables but the cables in the car were connected to a shift lever instead of pushbuttons. The cables at the transmission I thought were the same. Thanks, Gary H. > -------Original Message------- > > No. I discovered that the attachment for 65 was different than 64 and > earlier.
