Re: Trunk mat

I pulled the trunk mat up from my splatter painted trunk of my '65 Belvedere and had some areas of surface rust. It had been in there for a couple decades. The trunk was fully sealed and garaged, seldom in the rain. However, the seal was starting to leak at the top right edge.

There are two types of trunk mats available. The flat sheet and a moulded version. I also think the moulded one comes from ACC and you will pay more for it but it is so much nicer.

Trunk mats trap any moisture. On my 64 Polara I opted for spatter paint. Much better IMO.

Thank you. I think acc makes the better one. I will see when I get it.

there are some gussets along the tail light panel that may be in
slightly different locations/size, but overall it should be the same
(but have never compared the two to be 100% sure). I think a 63 was
slightly different in that respect, from a 64 mat.
