On my $30K engine I run K & N High Performance 3001. It’s long and has a bit more oil capacity. It has thicker canister walls for extra strength and durability which reduces the risk of damage from loose rocks and debris. The drilled hole on the nut provides for safety wire attachment. K & N oil filters also use a resin impregnated cellulose filter media. This allows for higher flow rates while providing outstanding filtration.
3x the price of the cheap ones. My choice for protecting the investment. They really are JUNK!!!
Yes...I've seen all the examples that get
posted everytime this comes up, and I still say, if FRAM was so bad, they'd be
sued out of business by now. I've used FRAM since day 1 (and I'm no spring
chicken) and have never had an oil filter-related failure. I can't speak for
all...just from my experience. I see FRAM on racecars all the time. I'm sure
they wouldn't install an inferior filter on their $25k + engines to save a few
bucks, if they didn't trust them.

I believe both the big block and small block Mopars use the same oil
filters. That said the NAPA Gold 1085 is the short filter and the 1068 is
the long filter.
I wouldn't use a Fram filter if you gave me a lifetime
supply.
