That 1953 Dodge Meadowbrook Suburban is actually a Plymouth Suburban with a 114" wheelbase Dodge front clip.  The Meadowbrook had a 230.6cid flathead six while the Plymouth had 217.6.   The only other differences are the instrument panel, taillights, bumpers, and namplates.  The Dodge Meadowbrook 6 used the Plymouth chassis.  The V8 was different due to the steering gear.

As for the "mystery car", the only mystery is why anyone would think that would be a prototype.   It just screams "backyard special".  A few years back I had a Canadian Valiant Signet hardtop with no wheel covers.  (Think Dodge Dart GT with Valiant emblems and nameplates)   Found a set of six 1966 Canadian Valiant wheel covers (Had Valiant "V" in the centre instead of the Plymouth emblem).    Could have sold the car as a Canadian Valiant styling proposal for 1966.    Could have made a killing.

knows where that "Colt" emblem in the center of the front grill came from.

That 1963 actually a 1953 reminds me of one of these 2 door wagons (a 1954, same color as the one in this ad) that I
saw at an auction about 25 years ago. (Yikes!) That wagon was completely restored and was real nice; it sold to a guy
who was a dealer going to flip it. No one else at the auction bid on the 1954 and he got it cheap, about $2500 if I
recall right.
