It would seem easier to find another Sport Fury lid panel and do the swap. Getting the replacement may be easier said 
than done, though, as it is over 50 years since made! (Yikes.) Check out the "Junkyards with 1962 to 1965 Mopars" 
section on http://www.1962to1965mopar.ornocar.com/restoration-sources.html -- e.g., Murray Park in OH.

Talk to a good local machinist for any options on getting the one you have modified as well.
