Hi John,

I never paid much attention to headlamps until they burned out but, incandescent bulbs do seem to act this way. LEDs are the only way to get brighter lamps without any wiring changes that I know of but, they are a little pricey. I recently rewired the headlamps on my 65 Coronet with 12 gauge wire coming from 2 relays (hi & lo beams) and added halogen lamp holders with separate bulbs. Haven't been out at night yet but, it looks great indoors. I also switched to a electronic voltage regulator to bring the old girl into the 21st century.
