RE: Glass removal 1965 Coronet.

Seems like a lot of work just for lube.  Did lube mine recently in the place (simply by spraying Kroil on all moving parts) - while prepping for upholstery work.

Surprising how much factory undercoating had flaked off and was down in the doors.  Vacuumed it out and replaced the outer felts (from Joe Suchy).  Found that could be done on my ’62 by lowering the glass all the way - and loosening the wing window attach bolts.  I even removed one new front felt after install when not happy with position and reinstalled without damage.  The inner felts I handed off to the upholstery shop - they attach to the door panels.  Can’t wait to see the new threads..........  ; )

Subject: Glass removal 1965 Coronet.

Hi fellas and gal,

I decided to R&R each door glass and regulator to clean and lube them. I started on a rear door but, after reading the procedure in my FSM, I find the design is different than what is described in the FSM. How does one release the regulator rollers from the lower glass

/metal channel that the rollers travel back and forth in?

I thought about removing all the regulator and door-mounted roller channel attaching bolts but I would still need to remove the rollers from their guides and I know it would a mess.

Can anyone guide me through this procedure ?

Mike LeFevre
