I thank everyone for your replies to my query. I have heard of “Green” bearings, I’ll google them to see info and where I can get them. However, one of my goals is to make it an easy swap for a new owner to revert to the factory rear end if they desire. So, getting a spare set of axles seems like the easiest for swapping third members between my stock and the sure grip. I just want to have some fun with the car that I’m not having now. I am familiar with driving a car with 4.11 rear gears and I miss that standing start thrill. However, I’m looking for something a little more modest in the thrill department. Something like 3.70 or 3.91.
Also, I like the idea of changing the complete rear end drum to drum, but it doesn’t work with my plan for easy retro-fit for a new owner or even myself if I choose to go back.
Thanks,
Bill
