Re: Plattsmouth Cruise in.

I had a good time visiting with Paul at the Cruise In.  Cool weather was probably  the reason that attendance  was down to about 500 from last years perfect weather  700 cars. This year was live band, outdoor beer garden, and several food vendors.  It gets bigger every year..no registration fees and only 5 awards---ALL chevy's , and non car people judges LOL
A lady asked If I would let her take some pictures, and describe Ole Brutus' build and history.  We find today that about 6 cars  and stories with pictures, were in the local newspaper--Plattsmouth Journal ( Neb.), I think is the name.
Sunday, wifey and I went to one of the areas larger car shows In Wintereset, Iowa. Film location of Clint Eastwoods " Covered  Bridges of Madison County"  and John Waynes  home and museum. I was talking to a friend during the awards ceremony, and didn't go to it.  A girl that we know came up to us and said we had won a trophy and to go get it.  No classes, they just hand out trophys to who has a car they like. I think there were about 10 of them.  I was about floored!!!  VERY cool hand made trophy about 3 foot tall.  The base is a differential spider gear housing , a cross made from exhaust clamps welded together ( not the U part) and used spark plugs. A piece of art-work to me..............................MO

Good chance I'll be there.  There is also a car show in Mineola, IA on sunday afternoon, noon to 3:00 at Tobey Jack's cafe.  Mineola is just across the river from Plattsmouth about 5 miles north of Glenwood.  Not sure if this is a new show don't remember hearing about it in previous years.  Participants get 20% off their bill if they eat at the cafe.

It was post poned from last Friday till this Friday evening.  Weather is supposed to be great , and we are planning on being there. People start getting there in early afternoon and fills up the Main street . Then they start parking in the center of the street and the side streets.  Wifey likes to go into the stores, so we will try to be there by 2:00PM
I got the differential changed in Brutus, and that cured all problems. Today I took the Nitto DOT drag radials off and put on new Cooper Cobras. I am anxious to try them out.  The Nitto's will be for sale.
Hope to see you there !!..............................MO
