Re: 1964 727 Rebuild Questions

I would like to take you up on your offer but the car is in Yuma, AZ so do I need to pass.  I did make it to Omaha this year with my other car a 63 SF and went to the Mega Mopar show with Rich and the guys in the area, nice show.

Dennis,
Basically all you need is a good stock rebuild with a shift kit (I like Transgo). I don't know for sure if the extra valves for the PT kick down will work but I'm sure the info is out there. I agree with the later model input and stator shaft swap for converter selection. I can do this for $185.00 labor plus parts if you are close to me (west MI). I've been rebuilding torqueflites since 1971.

Add a "Part throttle kickdown" kit. I think it greatly improves drivability.

Hello,

I have a 1964 Belvedere 318 Poly with a 727 transmission that need to be rebuilt.  I'm working with Gary P. to add a little hp to the engine so I want to do some upgrading to the transmission.

I would like to change the input shaft for a newer torque converter.

I would be interested in a mild shift kit.

Are there any internal upgrades that would be recommended?

Looking at the Vendor page here are three that look interesting:

Pat Blais

Frank Lupo

Copeland Racing

Any suggestions or recommendations.  I am planning on the engine and transmission being my winter project.

Thanks
Dennis C.
