Even keeping the bench I am looking at setting it back a couple inches. The bench seat brkts have adjustability to raise/lower and front to back. You loosen a couple
bolts and adjust the brkt. That is even mentioned in the owner’s manual. I already have it as low and far back as possible – and could use a couple more inches. To be able to use the same reinforced mounting holes – looks like a 3” longer metal angle would
do the trick, in place of part of that adjustable brkt that bolts to the floor. Still retaining the front/back adjustment parts. From: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]
On Behalf Of Bob Faunce I swapped a front bench for buckets on a 65 B-body a number of years ago. I seem to recall that I had to reverse the brackets on the bench seat to use them for the buckets. The bigger issue was that in using
the original underside structural seat support mounting hole, the buckets ended up closer to the steering wheel than the bench. I also had to drill at least two other mounting holes (that were not needed for the bench seat) and I didn’t want to simply hope
that the seat would stay in place in an accident using nuts and washers. Instead, I bought some 2” x ¼” steel bars x 15” or so, drilled them to fit the front-back bucket seat bolt pattern and installed them on the underside, using hardened washers and nut.
You could just as easily do this for the outboard bolts. If you are drilling holes for the buckets make sure you sit the seat far enough back so that you have plenty of room between you and the steering wheel.

On Behalf Of Hall, Ricky L Anyone have tips on floor pan replacement? Have a new pan coming today via FedEx truck freight from Summit Racing. Pulled out the front seat and carpet on the weekend to see how
to mount bucket seats....... Looking like she needs the rear two sections they sell too, as you can see thru in the right rear foot area. On that note – I don’t see fitting bucket seats in place of the bench seat very easily. The floor contour makes it 1 ½” or so higher where the inside tracks would go. And there
are no braces underneath for mounting the inside tracks. The bench straddles all that. Think I am back to having the bench upholstered with lumbar support. --
