Re: 727 experts-need help identifying

James, this is Mrmopartech from (Mymopar.com).To ID a tranny there are a few things to look at.Bell housing shape, big block or small block, type of shift mechanism, tail shaft type which is a tron ion, part number on oil pan rail, verify numbers as I found numbers for the 64 and 65,and that one was not there. The 65 is a cable shift unit,2 cables, yours I can,t see,but you can email me pics of the left side, and the bell housing. The 64 which is a tr-onion type, so it,s a 64,so now it,s to figure out what it came out of and level of performance it was built for?If you have more info, email me or call me,or send me your number and I call you,Scott Preston/mrmopartech 450 424 0445/514 659 0445  penstarperformance@xxxxxxxxx

I have what I believe is a '65 big block 727.  I found the casting numbers on the drivers side right above the pan.  This is what I found:   F2464424    1126133.  Does this seem right?  I am having a hard time finding this info.  I am trying to sell the trans and the buyer wanted to confirm it is from a '65.  Tailshaft number is 2464217-1

Thanks for any help!!
James
