Re: 1964 727 Rebuild Questions

Dennis,

For my Poly stroker I my 727 rebuilt using a TCI Master Overhaul Kit. Upgrades were a 24 spline input shaft, 518 metallic clutches, 4 clutch forward drum, Fairbanks extra wide intermediate band, heavy duty band strut, Turbo Action modified my valve body. I'm using a TCI converter, your converter will depend on your engine.

I had always been since 1964 a customer of Fairbanks Racing Transmission. The 2 founders of this company now each have their own shops. Dynamic Transmissions in DE., Frank Lupo, & Dynamic Transmissions in CT. Lenny. AA Transmissions Rick Allison, Pat Blais all can fill your needs. I'm luck out here in CT. to have Bill Bellafatto transmission to build and test my unit.

Hello,

I have a 1964 Belvedere 318 Poly with a 727 transmission that need to be rebuilt.  I'm working with Gary P. to add a little hp to the engine so I want to do some upgrading to the transmission.

I would like to change the input shaft for a newer torque converter.

I would be interested in a mild shift kit.

Are there any internal upgrades that would be recommended?

Looking at the Vendor page here are three that look interesting:

Pat Blais

Frank Lupo

Copeland Racing

Any suggestions or recommendations.  I am planning on the engine and transmission being my winter project.

Thanks
Dennis C.
