You actually answered my question.  I’ll see what I can come up with. Most of my stuff is newer.  That I have laying around..   seems like I saw a torque converter hub plug being used as a cap one time.  Lol  do what you must you know.  be this weekend till I can go look.

It will be kind of hard to send a picture of the cap as I dont have one !!  Yeah I can be a little sarcastic but in this hobby that is about all keeping us sane anymore.  I am sending you a picture of the top of the neck for the pump where the cap goes. It has bumps on the outside where the cap would catch opposed to most have notches on the inside. It is a little over  2 inches outside diameter

 

If you need the cap with the  inside style notches for you polara I have a contact for a guy that has that style at a reasonable price.  Let me know.
