I attached a few pics of how the rear lifts when hooking up with a nice set of drag radials. Note the shape of the leaf spring in the two pics, the first being relaxed during staging, and the 2nd under full load. So yes, the pinion snubber can certainly smack the bottom of the body (that's it's job) and yes, pinion angle can certainly impact this activity. As you increase pinion angle for a good hook and launch, the negative trade-off is that it robs HP. In your case, Mo, you may be correct in thinking your tune might need tweaking, as perhaps previously you had not experienced this load.
